3 Survive After MUV Falls Into Rivulet Near Chhatbir
Chhatbir: Three people had a narrow escape after the MUV they were travelling in fell into a seasonal rivulet in spate alongside the road from Rampura to Chhatbir.
The vehicle went off the road and began sinking in the water, putting the lives of all three occupants at risk. SSF personnel rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation despite the strong current.
The rescuers managed to pull all three occupants out of the vehicle one by one. Following the rescue, one of the persons was taken home, while the other two were shifted to a hospital in an ambulance.
The incident occurred as the seasonal rivulet was carrying a strong flow of water, making the rescue operation challenging.
During the operation, police also recovered an iPhone and ₹25,000 in cash from the water. The belongings were later returned to their owner after identification.
The prompt response by the SSF personnel helped prevent a potentially serious tragedy as the vehicle had started sinking after falling into the water.
