Chandigarh: The city is set to host an All India Mayors’ Conference, with around 40 mayors from different parts of the country expected to participate, according to Shorab Joshi.

The conference is proposed to be organised at the national level in Chandigarh for the first time. It is expected to provide a common platform for mayors to discuss key issues related to urban governance, civic administration and the development of cities.

The proposed meeting will bring together elected representatives of urban local bodies from across India, providing an opportunity to share experiences and discuss challenges faced by cities in managing civic services and urban infrastructure.

Manoj Gupta, National Secretary of the All India Mayors Council, is also expected to attend the conference.

The gathering could provide an opportunity for representatives from different cities to exchange ideas on urban development and explore approaches that can improve civic administration and public services.

Further details regarding the date, venue and detailed agenda of the conference are yet to be announced.
