Chandigarh explosives case: Three accused sent to 5-day police remand
Chandigarh: Three accused arrested in connection with the recovery of explosive material in Chandigarh have been sent to five days of police remand by a Chandigarh court. Police had sought seven days of remand.
The accused were produced before the Chandigarh District Court on Monday and appeared before Civil Judge (Junior Division) Dr. Parikshit. They will be produced before the court again on August 29.
Accused from Tarn Taran and Amritsar
Chandigarh Police have arrested Lovepreet Singh, a resident of Sarhali in Tarn Taran; Jashanpreet Singh alias Jashandeep, from Deobath in Tarn Taran; and Prabhpreet Singh alias Prabh, a resident of Tarsikka in Amritsar district.
Following the court's order, police have started questioning the three accused to gather more information related to the case.
Investigation to extend to Punjab districts
As part of the investigation, the accused will be taken to Fazilka, Tarn Taran and Amritsar for further questioning and to collect information connected with the case.
Police are also investigating the alleged links of the accused with BKI handlers based abroad. The investigation is aimed at establishing the nature of these links and determining their relevance to the Chandigarh explosives case.
The three accused are scheduled to be produced before the court again on August 29.
