Gen-H Startup Summit: CM Interacts with Gen-Z Youth and Young Entrepreneurs
Chandigarh, August 21: Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the future belongs to new technology, innovation and fresh ideas. Today’s youth are not limited to seeking jobs; they aspire to establish their own enterprises and create employment opportunities for others.
Speaking at the Gen-H Startup Summit–Yuva Udyami Chaupal organised at Gurugram University, the Chief Minister said the Haryana Government is committed to providing proper guidance, technical assistance, training and financial support to help young people transform their dreams and innovative ideas into successful enterprises.
He said the objective of the programme was not to deliver a conventional formal speech, but to sit among the youth, listen to their ideas, understand their challenges and respond directly to their questions.
“The future belongs to new technology, innovation and fresh ideas,” said the Chief Minister, urging youth to continuously upgrade their skills and transform their ideas into startups and successful enterprises.
Industry Minister Rao Narbir Singh, OSD to the Chief Minister Raj Nehru, Virender Badkhalasa and Gurugram University Vice Chancellor Professor Sanjay Kaushik were also present.
From Idea to Enterprise and Enterprise to Employment
The Chief Minister said Haryana has no shortage of talent and potential among its youth. What is required is the right direction, expert guidance and necessary resources to convert their ideas into viable businesses.
He said the government’s vision is clear—“Idea to Enterprise and Enterprise to Employment.” The objective is to transform an idea into an enterprise and create employment opportunities not only for the entrepreneur but also for other young people.
The government is bringing educational institutions, industry, startups and social organisations onto a common platform to create more opportunities for youth.
Government to Provide All Possible Support to Young Entrepreneurs
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said the Central and State Governments would extend all possible assistance to help youth realise their entrepreneurial dreams. Funding, technical assistance, training, mentorship and guidance on market requirements are among the key areas of support.
The Chief Minister said Haryana currently has 12,500 startups and called upon each startup to create one more startup so that a network of more than 25,000 startups can be established across the State.
He said the Gen-H Startup Summit–Yuva Udyami Chaupal is an important platform for taking this vision forward, with successful young entrepreneurs sharing their experiences and helping aspiring entrepreneurs understand how an idea can be developed into a successful business.
Six Master Classrooms Provide Practical Training
Six Master Classrooms were set up at the programme, where successful entrepreneurs provided practical knowledge on different aspects of establishing and scaling startups. Around 50 youth were trained in each Master Classroom.
The Chief Minister said training alone was not enough and that youth must also be connected with practical experience. Accordingly, arrangements have been made to connect trained youth with MSMEs so that they can understand the real business environment and develop their enterprises more effectively.
Direct Guidance Through Startup Room
At the Startup Room, successful entrepreneurs shared practical insights into launching a startup. Banks provided information regarding loans and financial assistance, while experts from the Skill University provided training and guidance.
The Chief Minister said the government was working to establish a mechanism through which young entrepreneurs would know where to approach for assistance or guidance at every stage of their entrepreneurial journey.
‘Yuva Udyamita Yatra’ to Cover Every District
The Chief Minister flagged off the ‘Yuva Udyamita Yatra’ and said the initiative would not remain limited to Gurugram. It will reach colleges, universities, ITIs, coaching institutes and other educational institutions across all districts of Haryana.
He directed officials to finalise the routes in advance and ensure that students are informed about the Yatra beforehand. Exhibitions will also be organised at various locations, while bank stalls will provide information about loans and financial assistance.
More Than 45,000 Ideas and Around 400 Young Entrepreneurs
The Gen-H Startup Summit showcased the entrepreneurial potential of Haryana’s youth. More than 45,000 ideas have emerged through the State’s Ideathon so far, while around 400 young entrepreneurs participated in the summit.
Selected young entrepreneurs shared their experiences, challenges and innovative ideas through roundtable discussions.
The Chief Minister said the large number of ideas emerging from the youth demonstrates their innovative thinking and potential. He stressed the importance of providing these ideas with the right direction and converting them into successful enterprises.
He also urged youth to understand and adopt Artificial Intelligence, robotics and other modern technologies. He said young people must develop a global outlook and work towards taking their ideas and products to international markets.
CM Directly Answers Questions from Youth
The open interaction between the Chief Minister and the youth was a key highlight of the programme. Young participants raised questions related to startups, funding, technical support, training, employment and future opportunities.
The Chief Minister assured them that the government was taking their aspirations seriously. He said the objective was to ensure that talented youth do not remain merely job seekers, but become capable of establishing enterprises and creating employment for others.
He advised youth not to be discouraged by challenges and failures, but to learn from them and continue moving forward. He said a successful enterprise can begin with a small idea, which can grow through consistent efforts, proper guidance and innovative thinking.
Youth Power is the Strength of a Viksit Haryana
The Chief Minister said the youth of Haryana are the State’s greatest strength. The government is continuously working to connect their energy, talent and innovative thinking with the economic development of Haryana.
He said the Gen-H Startup Summit–Yuva Udyami Chaupal is not merely an event, but a comprehensive initiative aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship among Haryana’s youth.
The Chief Minister called upon young people to dream big, embrace fresh thinking and resolve to turn their ideas into reality. He said the government stands with the youth to give wings to their dreams.
