Gold rises 0.5%, silver slips 0.1% in Indian bullion market

By NewsWave Desk02 Jul 2026, 08:07 am154 views

Gold prices edged higher in the Indian bullion and MCX markets, while silver traded slightly lower, showing a mixed trend in precious metals.

In the Indian bullion market, precious metals showed mixed but largely stable movements in early trading. 24-carat gold was trading higher by about 0.5 per cent, priced at ₹143,610 per 10 grams, reflecting mild upward momentum in domestic demand and global price cues. In contrast, silver witnessed a slight decline of 0.1 per cent, trading at ₹228,550 per kilogram, indicating subdued short-term sentiment.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the trend remained broadly similar. Gold futures for the August contract were up by around 0.5 per cent, trading at ₹143,200 per 10 grams, supported by steady investor interest and global market trends. However, silver futures for the September contract edged slightly lower, trading at ₹228,421 per kilogram, suggesting mild profit-booking or weaker short-term demand in the futures segment.

Overall, the bullion market reflected a cautious trading pattern, with gold maintaining a positive bias while silver remained slightly under pressure across both spot and futures markets.
