Haryana CM Reviews Major Development Projects, Directs Departments to Fast-Track Execution
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday chaired a high-level ‘Pragati’ review meeting at the Haryana Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh to assess the progress of major development projects worth over ₹75 crore currently underway across the state. He directed all departments to accelerate the pace of execution and ensure timely completion of all projects.
Focus on Healthcare Infrastructure
Special emphasis was laid on strengthening healthcare infrastructure across the state. Reviewing the construction of the Mother and Child Hospital and Service Block at Faridabad Civil Hospital, officials informed that around 28% of the work has been completed, with a target completion date of January 18, 2028.
Similarly, the 100-bed Mother and Child Hospital being constructed at the Sonipat Civil Hospital campus at a cost of ₹138.12 crore has achieved nearly 20% progress and is expected to be completed by October 19, 2027.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the 100-bed hospital project in Assandh, Karnal, being developed at a cost of ₹76.19 crore, where approximately 25% of the work has been completed so far.
He emphasized that all healthcare projects must be executed to the highest standards of quality, stating clearly that no compromise on quality will be tolerated.
Review of Key Infrastructure Projects
The Chief Minister also reviewed the International Convention Centre being developed in Sector-78, Faridabad, at a cost of ₹378.90 crore, which has achieved nearly 50% physical progress and is scheduled for completion by February 2027.
He also reviewed the Maharana Pratap Horticultural University (MHU) project in Karnal, being constructed at a cost of ₹422.54 crore, which is currently 43% complete.
Ethanol Plant Approved in Panipat
Officials informed that approval has been granted for a 90 KLPD multi-feed ethanol plant at Panipat Sugar Mill under the Cooperation Department, with an estimated cost of ₹200 crore. The project will now be sent to the High-Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) for tender finalization and is expected to be completed in the financial year 2027–28.
Strengthening Fire Services and Disaster Management
The Chief Minister was informed that land registration for the proposed Fire Training Centre at Khedi Masania in Jind has been completed. The project, estimated at ₹100 crore, is progressing further with ₹2 crore already released to PWD (B&R) for design and drawings.
Additionally, a proposal for procurement of a 104-metre aerial ladder platform worth ₹120 crore has been submitted for approval.
Employment and Youth Development
CM Saini also reviewed the implementation of the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS). He directed officials to increase the number of district-level job fairs and ensure regular, result-oriented employment drives to connect youth with industries and skill-based opportunities.
He stressed stronger coordination between the departments of Technical Education, Higher Education, Industrial Training, and Employment to ensure tangible monthly outcomes in job creation.
Strict Monitoring and Timely Execution
The Chief Minister made it clear that strict adherence to rules and deadlines is mandatory in all projects, and any delay will be viewed seriously. He also emphasized improving bus connectivity across villages and cities to reduce dependence on private vehicles and promote sustainable transport.
