Haryana Schools to Get Dual Desks by November 2026: Mahipal Dhanda
Chandigarh, August 25: Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda has directed officials to speed up infrastructure and academic improvement works across government schools and colleges, with a focus on improving classroom facilities, foreign language education and competitive exam preparation.
Dhanda chaired a review meeting of officials from the Higher Education and School Education departments at Haryana Niwas on Tuesday.
Dual Desks for Eligible Schools by November
The meeting was informed that the procurement process for dual desks has been expedited. The department has set a target of providing dual desks in all targeted government schools by November 2026.
The Education Minister said a comprehensive survey of basic facilities in government schools has been completed. Based on the findings, district-wise requirements and deficiencies have been identified, and development plans are being prepared accordingly.
Construction, repair and other essential works are being taken up on priority.
250 CM-EEE Schools Identified
The department has identified 250 CM-EEE Schools across Haryana. Special School Development Plans have been prepared for these institutions, which are linked to the development process of PM-SHRI Schools.
The schools are expected to receive improvements in infrastructure, academic quality and the overall learning environment.
French and German Classes in Government Schools
Haryana government school students are also being provided opportunities to learn foreign languages.
With support from the Embassy of France, 60 teachers have been trained and French classes have started in 26 government schools.
For German language education, 80 teachers have been selected and their training is underway with support from the Embassy of Germany.
Super 100 Seats Increased to 500
The number of seats under Haryana’s Super 100 programme has been increased from 400 to 500.
The programme provides preparation and guidance to meritorious students for competitive examinations such as IIT and NEET.
The process of establishing two offline centres under the programme has also been completed.
NIPUN Haryana Mission Extended
The NIPUN Haryana Mission has been expanded up to Class 5 under the Chief Minister’s Budget announcement. During the current year, the programme is being implemented up to Class 4.
Digital assessment of students from Balvatika-3 to Class 4 has been conducted through the NIPUN Haryana Teacher App. New textbooks will be developed based on students’ learning levels.
Focus on Government Colleges
The Education Minister also directed the Higher Education Department to strengthen infrastructure in government colleges across Haryana and create an environment that can help increase student enrolment.
The meeting was attended by senior officials of the School Education and Higher Education departments.
