Chandigarh: Heavy rainfall lashed Chandigarh on Thursday morning, providing much-needed relief to residents from hot and humid weather conditions.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rainfall is likely across all districts of Punjab today. However, five districts — Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar and Mohali — may witness heavy rainfall, prompting authorities to remain alert.
The sudden change in weather brought down temperatures and improved conditions after days of humidity and heat. Residents welcomed the showers as monsoon activity strengthened across the region.
Meanwhile, authorities in Himachal Pradesh have issued an advisory for tourists, asking them to avoid going near rivers and water bodies due to the possibility of rising water levels and weather-related risks.
People have been advised to stay updated with weather forecasts and follow safety guidelines issued by local administrations.
