Chandigarh, August 22, 2026: Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms is being witnessed in Chandigarh, while similar weather conditions have been forecast for Panchkula and Mohali. The rainfall has brought relief to residents who had been struggling with high humidity and sticky heat.

On Friday, the sky remained cloudy throughout the morning, but there was little relief from the humidity. The maximum relative humidity reached 92%, leaving people uncomfortable due to excessive sweating and sticky weather.

The weather department has forecast thunderstorms, rain and showers in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula on August 22 and 23. The rainfall is expected to make the weather pleasant over the weekend.

According to the weather department, the sky will remain partly cloudy on August 22 and 23, with chances of rain. However, rain activity may decrease from August 24 to 26.

Temperatures are expected to rise during this period. The maximum temperature is likely to remain around 36°C on August 22 and 23, rise to 37°C on August 24 and reach 38°C on August 25 and 26.

The minimum temperature is expected to remain between 25°C and 26°C over the next five days.
