Amritsar Police Bust Illegal Arms Supply Network, 2 Arrested With 8 Pistols and 103 Cartridges
Amritsar: The Amritsar Commissionerate Police has busted an alleged illegal arms supply network and arrested two suspects, recovering eight illegal .30 bore pistols and 103 live cartridges.
According to the preliminary investigation, the accused were allegedly in contact with foreign-based smugglers through social media applications. They are suspected of receiving and supplying consignments of illegally manufactured foreign weapons to criminal elements in Punjab.
Investigation Underway
An FIR has been registered at Islamabad Police Station, Amritsar.
Police said further investigation is underway to establish the suspects’ backward and forward links, verify alleged cross-border connections and identify other individuals associated with the illegal arms supply network.
The Punjab Police said it remains committed to dismantling illegal arms networks and maintaining strict surveillance against cross-border smuggling.
