Several Kalka-Shimla heritage trains will remain cancelled till September 30 after track damage caused by soil subsidence near Railway Bridge No. 57.

Kalka-Shimla rail services to remain affected

Chandigarh, September 16: Rail services on the Kalka-Shimla heritage railway section will remain affected after soil subsidence damaged the track near Railway Bridge No. 57 at kilometer 07/16-17. The Railways has extended the cancellation and short-termination arrangements for several trains till September 30. Earlier, the restrictions were scheduled to remain in place till September 15.

These trains will remain cancelled

According to the railway order, from September 16 to September 30, trains running from Kalka towards Shimla in the up direction — 52457, 52451, 52459 and 52455 — will remain cancelled. The up mixed train will also remain cancelled. Similarly, trains operating from Shimla towards Kalka in the down direction — 52458, 52452, 52460 and 52456 — will remain cancelled. The down mixed train will also remain cancelled during this period. Passengers planning to travel on the Kalka-Shimla heritage route are advised to check the latest railway update before making their journey.
