Punjab Government Provides Rs 10 Lakh Insurance Cover to PESCO Employees: Mohinder Bhagat
CHANDIGARH, August 20: The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has provided a Rs 10 lakh insurance cover to employees working under the Punjab Ex-Servicemen Corporation (PESCO) as part of its efforts to strengthen employee welfare and social security.
Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat announced the insurance cover while reviewing the functioning of PESCO at Chandigarh on Thursday.
Rs 10 Lakh Insurance Cover for PESCO Employees
During the meeting, Mohinder Bhagat said the insurance cover has been provided keeping in view the safety and security of employees working under PESCO.
The Cabinet Minister said the Punjab Government is committed to providing better welfare and security facilities to PESCO employees and ensuring that the interests of ex-servicemen and their families remain protected.
Over 23,500 Employees Working Under PESCO
PESCO Managing Director Major General Harmandeep Singh briefed the Minister about the employment opportunities being provided to ex-servicemen through the corporation.
According to the briefing, more than 23,500 employees are currently serving under PESCO, highlighting the corporation’s significant role in providing employment opportunities to ex-servicemen.
Minister Directs Officials to Expand Employment Opportunities
Mohinder Bhagat directed PESCO officials to further improve the corporation’s functioning and create maximum employment opportunities for ex-servicemen.
He also instructed officials to ensure that issues concerning ex-servicemen and employees are addressed and resolved on priority.
The Minister reiterated the Punjab Government’s commitment to the social and economic security of ex-servicemen and their families, while stressing the need for continued improvement in employee welfare and PESCO services.
