Punjab to Host 92 Drone Shows on Guru Ravidas Ji’s 650th Parkash Purab
Chandigarh/SAS Nagar, August 26, 2026: Punjab will organise 92 specially designed drone shows across the state as part of the year-long celebrations marking the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond said on Wednesday.
The announcement was made during a review meeting chaired by Sond with the Deputy Commissioners of SAS Nagar, Rupnagar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar at the District Administrative Complex in SAS Nagar. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains also participated in the meeting online.
The meeting focused on preparations for the drone shows as well as the proposed Shobha Yatras and other programmes being organised during the year-long commemoration.
Drone Shows to Begin in September
According to Sond, the drone shows will begin in September, with more than 500 drones participating in each presentation.
The approximately 25 to 30-minute aerial shows will use an immersive digital presentation in the night sky to depict the life, Bani and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji.
The minister said the initiative is aimed particularly at connecting the younger generation with the teachings and message of Guru Sahib.
Deputy Commissioners were directed to identify suitable locations and ensure that the public is informed about the venues and schedules in advance.
Shobha Yatras to Culminate at Khuralgarh Sahib
The meeting also reviewed preparations for the proposed Shobha Yatras. Four yatras originating from Kashi, Jammu, Bathinda and Faridkot will culminate at Khuralgarh Sahib.
The yatras are scheduled to be held in November. The Shobha Yatra originating from Kashi will also stay in Mohali.
Documentary Screened in 3,500 Villages
Sond said a specially produced documentary on the life, teachings and Bani of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji has so far been screened in around 3,500 of Punjab’s approximately 13,500 villages.
A fleet of 50 vans is travelling across the state to screen the documentary and spread the message of Guru Sahib.
The government will also organise a three-day special celebration at Khuralgarh Sahib in December, marking the culmination of the year-long commemorative programmes.
Other Programmes Being Organised
As part of the celebrations, the Punjab Government has also been organising Kirtan Darbars, university seminars, school-level competitions and screenings of the documentary.
Sant Baba Pardeep Das Ji expressed gratitude to the Punjab Government and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for organising the programmes. He said the followers of Guru Sahib appreciated the efforts being made for the commemorations.
Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, who joined the meeting online, said the year-long programmes had created a positive and spiritual atmosphere among the Sangat.
MLA Mohali Kulwant Singh said the drone shows would also be organised successfully in Mohali with the participation of devotees and members of the public.
Advisor to the Punjab Tourism and Heritage Promotion Board Deepak Bali described the drone shows as an innovative medium to connect the younger generation with the Bani and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji.
