Woman Jumps into Sukhna Lake, ASI Rakesh Saves Her Life
Chandigarh, August 28: Panic gripped Sukhna Lake on Thursday afternoon after a woman jumped into the deep waters of the lake. A police team immediately reached the spot following the alert, and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Rakesh risked his life to rescue the woman.
The woman, aged around 50, was pulled out of the water safely and later handed over to her husband.
ASI Rakesh Jumps into Lake to Rescue Woman
According to the information available, the incident took place at around 12:30 pm on Thursday. The woman reportedly jumped into the lake while a police patrol team was in the area.
As soon as the police received the information, ASI Rakesh, who is posted at the Sukhna Lake police post and is part of a team led by post in-charge Sunil Kumar, immediately entered the water.
Despite the risk involved, he managed to reach the woman and bring her safely out of the lake.
Woman Reportedly Under Mental Stress
According to the information available, the woman was reportedly facing mental stress. The exact circumstances leading to the incident have not been disclosed.
After being rescued, she was handed over to her husband.
