Punjab Law and Order Under Fire After Multiple Murders, BJP Chief Kewal Singh Dhillon Targets Mann Government

Punjab BJP chief Kewal Singh Dhillon attacks the Mann government over law and order after multiple killings, demanding accountability and public safety.

Punjab Law and Order Under Question After Multiple Killings, Says Kewal Singh Dhillon

Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon has strongly criticised the state government over the law and order situation, alleging that criminals are operating without fear and that the government has failed to ensure the safety of ordinary citizens.

Dhillon made the remarks after a series of killings reported in Punjab on Saturday. He cited the shooting of social media influencer and makeup artist Mad Sandhu in Amritsar, the killing of two people, including a former sarpanch, in Ludhiana, and the death of a young man near the SDM Guest House in Khadur Sahib. Reports confirm that Sandhu was shot by unidentified assailants in Amritsar, with police investigating the case.

Dhillon questioned Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over the government’s responsibility for maintaining law and order. He asked whether the Chief Minister would take responsibility for the recent killings and demanded answers on when people in Punjab would be able to feel safe.

The BJP leader also questioned the government’s claim that Punjab is being transformed into a safe state. He argued that such claims need to be matched by ground-level security when people are concerned about their safety while stepping outside their homes.

Dhillon further alleged that Punjab’s problems related to crime and drugs are becoming more serious. He said the state, once known for peace and brotherhood, is now facing growing concerns over public safety.

His remarks come as police investigations continue into the recent killings. In the Amritsar case, police have said they have leads and are working to identify and arrest those responsible.
