A free medical health discussion was organized at the NHPC Regional Office, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Fortis, Mohali

NHPC Chandigarh, in collaboration with Fortis Hospital, organized a free health awareness session for its employees. During the session, medical experts raised awareness about bone health, including osteoporosis and robotic surgery, as well as mental stress management.

NHPC Chandigarh Organizes Free Health Awareness Session in Collaboration with Fortis Hospital

Under NHPC's employee welfare initiatives and under the guidance of Executive Director Mr. Aditya Gautam, the Regional Office, Chandigarh organized a free medical health awareness session on 2 July 2026 in collaboration with Fortis Hospital, Mohali. The objective of the programme was to enhance health awareness among employees and promote the importance of preventive healthcare.

During the session, Dr. Zubin Mehta, M.S. (Orthopaedic Surgeon), delivered an informative presentation on bone and joint health. He elaborated on the causes and risk factors of osteoporosis and highlighted effective preventive measures such as maintaining a balanced diet, engaging in regular physical exercise, ensuring adequate intake of calcium and vitamin D, and adopting an active lifestyle. He also explained the role of robotic surgery in modern orthopaedic treatment, outlining its advantages and the improved precision and outcomes it offers. In addition, he discussed other common bone and joint disorders, their early symptoms, the importance of timely diagnosis, and appropriate treatment.

The second expert speaker, Ms. Aanchal Sharma, Psychologist, conducted an engaging and interactive session on Mental Health and Stress Management. She discussed the major causes of workplace stress and shared practical strategies for managing stress effectively. Her session emphasized the importance of positive thinking, emotional well-being, time management, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. She also highlighted the growing significance of mental health in today's corporate and office environment and encouraged employee participation through interactive activities designed to increase awareness and promote psychological well-being.

Employees participated enthusiastically in the programme and actively interacted with the experts, seeking guidance on various health-related concerns. The session motivated participants to adopt a healthier lifestyle, remain conscious of both their physical and mental well-being, and appreciate the importance of preventive healthcare.

Senior officers and employees of the NHPC Regional Office, Chandigarh, were present on the occasion.
