Suspected Drones Spotted Near Amritsar Airport Runway
Amritsar, September 7, 2026: Sri Guru Ram Dass International Airport in Amritsar was placed on high alert after two to four suspected drones were reportedly spotted near the runway area, prompting immediate safety measures.
Following the sighting, Air Traffic Control issued an alert and sirens were sounded at the airport.
3 Flights Cancelled, 7 Diverted
According to the initial information, three flights scheduled to take off were cancelled, while seven flights due to land at Amritsar airport were diverted.
The diverted flights were reportedly sent towards Chandigarh and Delhi following the suspected drone sightings.
