Asian Games 2026: India Win Silver in Men’s 10m Air Rifle, Rudrankksh and Himanshu Reach Final
India added another medal to its shooting tally at the Asian Games 2026, winning silver in the men’s 10m air rifle team event in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Monday. Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane combined for 1890.1 points to finish second.
China Set a New World Record
China won the gold medal with a world-record score of 1899.0 points, improving its previous mark by 0.6 points. South Korea secured bronze with 1884.2 points.The Indian trio stayed in medal contention throughout the event and finished with a strong overall score.
Rudrankksh and Himanshu Qualify for Individual Final
India's performance also produced two individual finalists. Rudrankksh Patil scored 631.8 points to finish third in qualification, while Himanshu Dhillon recorded 630.0 points to take seventh place.Both shooters have therefore qualified for the individual final. Parth Mane, who scored 628.3 points, finished 10th and missed out on the individual final.
India’s Shooting Medal Tally Grows
The men's team silver adds to India's strong start in shooting at the Asian Games. India had earlier won silver in the women's 10m air rifle team event, with Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod finishing second. Elavenil later added another silver in the individual event.India had won a record 22 shooting medals — seven gold, nine silver and six bronze — at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.
