BJP Launches Massive Digital Training Drive: Over 12 Lakh Booth Workers Enrolled Under New Initiative
NEW DELHI: In a bid to transform its organizational structure into a tech-savvy network, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday announced the launch of a massive, nationwide digital training campaign. More than 12 lakh booth-level karyakartas (workers) have already enrolled in the program, which is aimed at modernizing grassroots operations and improving engagement with the youth and Gen Z.
The initiative is being run under the umbrella of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Training Maha Abhiyan. The party’s ultimate objective is to train at least 10 workers at every single booth across the country, eventually building a formidable network of one crore digitally trained personnel.
BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, who serves as the co-in-charge of the program, shared that the Digital Learning Programme (DLP) was formally rolled out on the party's Foundation Day on April 6 earlier this year. The launch was spearheaded by BJP National President Nitin Nabin, National General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santosh, and National Co-General Secretary (Organisation) Shiv Prakash.
Chugh noted that the initial phase aimed to enroll 10 lakh workers between June 23 (the martyrdom day of Jana Sangh founder Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee) and July 6 (his birth anniversary). However, overwhelming participation saw enrollment comfortably breach the 12 lakh mark within that window.
The training itself is delivered via an app-based Digital Learning Platform offering study materials, specialized videos, and interactive quizzes in 12 languages. Upon successful completion of the coursework, workers are awarded digital certificates. The syllabus covers the BJP’s history, ideological core, organizational values, and the Panch Nishtha (five commitments), alongside modules detailing the welfare programs of the Narendra Modi-led government and practical usage of the NaMo App.
Reviewing regional performance, Chugh highlighted Madhya Pradesh as the top performer in sheer numbers, with over 1.83 lakh workers signing up. Tripura achieved the highest density, with nearly 20 participants per booth and an 85% course completion rate. Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Ladakh also logged impressive completion rates crossing 80%.
Moving forward, the campaign enters its next phase, which will push deeper into lagging regions through specialized outreach drives, training camps, and local digital assistance centers. Inspired by PM Modi's "Digital India" vision, Chugh emphasized that these digitally equipped workers will play a pivotal role in taking governance and public welfare messages straight to the last mile.
