Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini expressed grief over the fire incident in Lucknow while interacting with media persons during a press conference on Monday. He conveyed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragedy. The Chief Minister said that the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh had immediately reached the spot, reviewed the situation and monitored the rescue operations. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident.
Responding to another question, the Chief Minister said that environmental conservation is essential to combat the effects of global warming and emphasised the need for large-scale plantation drives. He said that the Haryana Government is making serious efforts in this direction. He said that Haryana is the first state in the country to provide pension to old trees to ensure their proper protection and conservation. As in previous years, a large-scale plantation campaign will be undertaken across the state during the upcoming monsoon season under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative. Tree-guards will be installed and proper care will be ensured so that the saplings grow into healthy trees.

Arun Kumar Gupta, OSD to the Chief Minister, Dr. Raj Nehru, OSD to the Chief Minister, Sh.Virender Singh Badkhalsa, Additional Director, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Captain, Sh. Manish Kumar Lohan, and Media Secretary to the Chief Minister, Sh. Praveen Attrey were also present during the press conference.
