Chandigarh, August 10: Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini met with Deputy Chief Minister of Penang, Malaysia, Sh. Jagdeep Singh Deo, at Haryana Niwas, Chandigarh today and discussed avenues for strengthening cooperation between Haryana and Penang in investment, technology, skills, employment and cultural exchange

During the meeting, Sh. Jagdeep Singh Deo highlighted his Sikh and Punjabi heritage and expressed his special connection with the region. He formally invited Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini to visit Penang and attend the inauguration of a prominent historical Gurudwara in September this year.

Welcoming the Deputy Chief Minister of Penang, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that Haryana is emerging as a leading destination for technology-driven investments and is committed to creating a robust ecosystem for innovation, artificial intelligence and new-age industries. He invited the Deputy Chief Minister of Penang and the Penang leadership to participate in the upcoming ‘Happening Haryana’ event scheduled for April 2027. 

He also invited the leadership of Penang and Malaysian investors to explore investment opportunities in Haryana, particularly in the upcoming AI hubs being developed in Panchkula and Gurugram, noting the strong potential for cross-regional job creation through this partnership.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that Haryana is committed to building strong international partnerships that translate into investment, innovation, employment and new opportunities for the people of the State. He expressed confidence that closer engagement between Haryana and Penang would pave the way for mutually beneficial cooperation in technology, investment, skills and economic development.
