Mahabharata Comes Alive at Jyotisar’s Immersive Experience Centre
Chandigarh, August 26, 2026: For those who want to experience the Mahabharata beyond books and traditional storytelling, the Mahabharata Anubhav Kendra at Jyotisar in Kurukshetra offers an immersive journey through the epic using modern technology.
The centre, dedicated to the legacy of the Mahabharata and the Bhagavad Gita, combines traditional storytelling with advanced digital experiences. Located at Jyotisar, the sacred site traditionally associated with Lord Krishna imparting the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna, it is emerging as an important cultural and heritage tourism attraction in Haryana.
Developed at a Cost of Around Rs 1,240 Crore
According to a government spokesperson, the Mahabharata Anubhav Kendra was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has been developed at an estimated cost of around Rs 1,240 crore.
Spread across approximately 17 acres, the centre has more than one lakh square feet of indoor space.
Visitors can explore the epic through technologies including Augmented Reality (AR), UV laser technology, projection mapping, holographic presentations and immersive visual experiences.
Mahabharata Stories Presented Through Modern Technology
The centre's immersive galleries showcase important events, characters and philosophical themes from the Mahabharata.
The use of modern technology alongside traditional storytelling allows visitors to experience the epic in a more visual and engaging manner. The centre has been designed for pilgrims, tourists, students, researchers and families.
The presentations also focus on the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and the broader philosophical messages associated with the Mahabharata.
A New Cultural Tourism Attraction in Kurukshetra

The Mahabharata Anubhav Kendra is open to the public from 9 am to 3 pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
The centre remains closed on Mondays.
