Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao has directed officials to ensure that all pending repair and renovation works related to health institutions across the state are completed as soon as possible. She emphasized that negligence or delays in execution would not be tolerated under any circumstances. She also instructed that new projects be completed within the stipulated timelines.
The Health Minister was chairing a review meeting of senior officials from the Health Department and the Public Works Department (PWD) in Chandigarh today.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Dr. Sumita Misra; Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works Department, Apoorva Kumar Singh; Director General Health Services, Dr. Manish Bansal; Engineer-in-Chief, Public Works Department, Anil Dahiya; along with other senior officials.
Arti Singh Rao reviewed Chief Minister's announcements and other ongoing projects related to the Health Department and directed officials to complete them within the prescribed timeframe. She stated that all government-announced projects related to Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), Sub-Health Centres, and Civil Hospitals should be expedited.
Stressing the importance of quality in construction works, the Minister instructed all concerned officials to closely monitor ongoing projects. She warned that strict action would be taken against the responsible officials if substandard quality was found in any project.
The Health Minister further directed that Operation Theatres, laboratories, and other essential rooms in health institutions should be constructed strictly in accordance with prescribed norms and medical requirements. If necessary, technical committees may be constituted and expert assistance sought to ensure proper planning and execution.
She also stated that buildings of health institutions that have already been completed should be finished promptly and handed over by the Public Works Department to the Health Department at the earliest, so that OPD services and other healthcare facilities can be made operational for the benefit of patients.
