Bittu alleges attack on convoy near Batala
Chandigarh, September 18, 2026: BJP leader and former Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu alleged on Friday that his convoy was attacked near Batala in Punjab while he was travelling towards Pathankot to participate in the BJP’s anti-drug yatra. According to Bittu’s statement, eggs and tomatoes were thrown at vehicles in his convoy and windows of some vehicles were damaged. Reports said three people were apprehended by his security team, with Bittu’s office alleging links to the Aam Aadmi Party. AAP has denied involvement in the incident.
Bittu condemns incident
In a statement issued after the incident, Bittu strongly condemned the alleged attack and urged the Punjab DGP to take action against those responsible. He said such incidents would not deter the BJP’s campaign against drugs in Punjab and called for the police to act professionally. The incident took place as Bittu was travelling to Pathankot for the launch of the BJP’s Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra.
